Key added values include:
o strategic applications--
ááCTPartners specializes in applications that have a
áádirect and measurable impact on an organization's
áábottom line. These applications focus on the
ááorganization's long-term goals and objectives such
ááas improving customer service, becoming more global,
ááand containing costs.
o information integration--
ááCTPartners dynamically accesses data embedded in
áágenerations of software applications and databases.
ááUsing integrated interfaces of their own design, end
ááusers are empowered to input, extract and manipulate
ááinformation easily from heterogeneous data sources
ááincluding mainframes, minis, and LANs.
o open systems technology--
ááCTPartners uses a three-tier client/server architecture
ááand open systems standards to leverage and augment
ááexisting systems. This results in flexible, cost-
ááeffective and end-user driven applications.
o business case--
ááAll applications developed are cost justified
ááthrough the development of a comprehensive business
áácase. This analysis not only validates an
ááapplication's strategic impact, but also prioritizes
ááthe functions to be included in the final system.
o building consensus--
ááThroughou⌠ thσ Cambidgσ Applicatioε Lifσ Cyclσ (CALC)¼ ì
ááconscensus is built among all interested client parties
ááfrom the executive information systems, and end-user
áácommunities. This mind share not only overcomes political
ááimpediments to designing and developing systems, but also
ááensures the long term success of the rolled out
ááapplication.
o unprecedented time frame--
ááCTP defines and implements applications in one-third
ááof the time required by traditional methods
áá(10-25 weeks).
o business practices--
ááThe majority of the CALC services are performed on a
ááfixed price, fixed time frame basis.

CTP Methodology
**********
CTP04.GAL
*********
..pictureA:\CTG\CTP04.GAL,65535,49151,1,43,13,
The Cambridge Application Life Cycle (CALC), is CTP's proven
methodology for creating strategic computing applications.
Although the CALC is sequential, clients have the flexibility
to enter the cycle at any step.
Throughout the CALC, CTP ensures that executives, users and
MIS have complete buy-in of the application. This is done
through a combination of joint development (in certain phases)
and frequent "check-points." Their smallest production
systems have been delivered in 6 weeks. Larger systems
average 25 weeks.
The CALC process:
o strategic application identification and technical
ááevaluation services
áá-CTPartners unites key executives, appropriate user
áágroups and information system personnel to evaluate
ááthe client's business, technical and cultural
ááenvironment.
áá-This two- to five-day analysis results in the
ááidentification and definition of specific
ááapplications that have strategic benefits for the
áásponsoring organization.
áá-Preliminary architectures are explored.
o Rapid Solutions Workshop
áá-Three-week joint application development effort
áábrings together executives, MIS personnel and end
ááusers in the creation of a prototype, benefits
ááanalysis and preliminary technical design of the
áástrategic application.
áá-Because this is a consensus building vehicle it
ááprovides a tangible reference point to validate the
ááapplication vision.
o application design
áá-Over a three- to five-week period, CTPartners and
ááthe client develop complete end-user and system
ááarchitecture specifications.
áá-The final scope of the system is determined based
ááon a thorough analysis of each function's payback
áápotential.
áá-Also formulated is a comprehensive project plan as
ááwell as decision on third party hardware and
áásoftware.
o system development and implementation
áá-During this phase the requirements designed
ááand scoped in previous phases are fully developed
ááand made operational.
áá-Utilizing state-of-the art development tools,
ááa three-tier client/server architecture and the client's
ááexisting hardware, software and people resources,
ááCTPartners develops a full production system in
ááunder 28 weeks.
o client support services/empowerment
áá-Upon completion of a system, a dedicated
ááCTPartners support team works either remotely from
ááCambridge or on the client's site to meet the
ááapplication's evolving maintenance and enhancement
ááneeds.
áá-CTPartners offers extensive apprenticeship
áátraining which empowers our clients to become self-
áásufficient in providing ongoing application
áádevelopment and support.
